Great British Spring Clean 2nd 1 Tonne pick

Northfield Avenue,Kettering,nn16 9hu

04 Mar 2017

00:00

Today we'll be picking the pedestrian path and green verges of the Slade brook on Northfield Avenue. This event coincides with the Kettering Rotary club's pick of the Railway Station to Lower Street. Today we picked the pedestrian path and green verges of the Slade brook on Northfield Avenue. This event coincided with the Kettering Rotary club's pick of the Railway Station to Lower Street. I bumped in to the 6 or so pickers, who were all very enthusiastic and did a great job. I returned after they left to jump in the brook, forgetting that I didn't have my wellies on still. I collected 75KG of litter, bringing the 1 Tonne event total to 108KG so far. A person crossing on to the roundabout threw 2 McDonalds wrap containers on to the floor opposite us, while I was picking. Had some really good talks with local residents and had an offer of help from a very kind lady when I was stretching to retrieve a Morrison's trolley from the Brook. Please visit www.justgiving.

Our mission is to make our neighbourhood a safer, cleaner and greener place for wildlife and residents to live and enjoy. We encourage our members to conduct solo litter picks and organise regular community clean-up events for those who want to make Stretford a litter-free zone.
