1st South Woodford Society Litterpick 11am South Woodford Station Over 30 members of the South Woodford Society and members of the public came along to help clean up South Woodford on Sunday 13th May. We met at the station and split into three groups who litterpicked along sections of Pulteney Way, Chigwell Road, Hermon Hill, Charlies Browns Roundabout, George Lane, including flowerbeds opposite The Shubberies and outside M&S. We collected over 20 bags of litter and another 5 which were recycled. It was a surprising fun morning, full of good weather, community spirit and a real sense of achievement! Special thanks to our young volunteers who seemed to have the energy to go on all day! Main bugbear are cigarette ends - just stop the drop!.

An important part of our work is with young people. We have met with Junior schools, Brownies and Cubs, and talked about the reduction of litter and recycling.
We liaise with other environmental groups in the area, particularly those with similar aims to ours and we work closely with the local Borough Council.
